Chemistry in our world

LO: To demonstrate that dissolving, mixing and changes of state are reversible changes.

To know the difference between reversible and irreversible changes

Important facts to learn:

  • some materials will dissolve in liquid to form a solution, and it is possible to recover a substance from a solution.
  • Understand the difference between reversible and irreversible changes

Some materials (solutes) will dissolve in liquid (solvents) to form a solution. The solute can be recovered by evaporating off the solvent by heating.

and finally some salt tricks that look like magic (but are science)

Make sure you ask an adult to help you with these and have some science fun.
