Priority One: Quality of Education – Raising standards and transforming lives
1.1 To embed a rich, creative and ambitious curriculum that is personalised, provides breadth and challenge to enhance the progress that all pupils make so that they succeed in life.
1.2 To further ensure Ifield’s curriculum is well planned and sequenced so that pupils can build on their learning and acquire new skills and knowledge.
1.3 To ensure that teachers have good subject knowledge and use assessment effectively to plan meaningful learning to further support the progress that pupils make, so that they are prepared for the next stage of their education.
Priority Two: Behaviours and Attitudes – Enhancing positive relationships and high expectations
2.1 To embed the school’s culture so that pupils and their families are supported to further develop positive attitudes, such as self-advocacy and expression, and model the school values.
2.2 To continue to raise pupil attendance, including liaison with multi-agency professionals to provide pupils and their families with specialist support.
2.3 To empower staff and families to support pupils with their communication, independence and self-regulation, so that pupils’ learning and progress continues to be good or better.
Priority Three: Personal Development – Empowering confidence and independence for life
3.1 Enable pupils to be responsible citizens, by providing opportunities to take lead roles within the school environment and wider community.
3.2 Ensure pupils have access to high level careers education, including a life skills curriculum that expands from early years to post-16 so that they develop greater independence, gain transferrable skills, and are better prepared for life outside of school and the next stage of their lives.
3.3 Ensure that the Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education curriculum is embedded in a meaningful way for pupils to thrive and learn, so that pupils understand their rights and responsibilities within the school community and society.
Priority Four: Leadership and Management – Inspiring everyone to learn more, do more and become more
4.1 To ensure staff have access to high-quality, sustained professional development opportunities, aligned to balance the priorities of whole-school improvement, team and individual needs.
4.2 To promote positive and respectful relationships across the school community and ensure a culture of high expectations and professionalism.
4.3 To continue to work strategically with governors to further develop school improvement which are realistic and timely.
4.4. To continue to work collaboratively with KsENT schools to enhance the lives of pupils with SEND across Kent.
4.5 To closely monitor budget, income and expenditure, taking account of external pressures including fuel crisis and cost of living increases.
Priority Five: Early Years – Building solid foundations to shape futures
5.1 Implement the statutory changes into the Early Years Curriculum, ensuring all staff working within Early Years and Key Stage One are confident and have secure knowledge and understanding to support children effectively.
5.2 Develop staff knowledge and practice in Early Years through effective professional training, while keeping up-to-date with developments.
5.3 To continue to enhance the collaborative and inclusive partnership within the nurseries based at King’s Farm Primary School.
Priority Six: Sixth Form – Ensuring aspirational goals to open doors
6.1 To ensure that accreditations, assessment and moderation are well planned and delivered in a timely manner so that key stage four and five students achieve the highest standards within academic and wider curriculum areas.
6.2 To ensure that young people are well prepared for the transition to adulthood throughout post-16 and ensure their aspirations are fulfilled.
6.3 To continue to work with the Local Authority to review the suitability of provision for students with the most complex needs.
