WEEK 2 (Challenge level 3) What is subtraction - watch video explanation of subtraction and try the quizzes underneath. Pupils will benefit from using tactile objects to represent numbers and a number line to help them work out the subtraction sums. (Challenge level 2) one more, one less – More advanced than counting, finding one more and one less is knowing which number comes after and before a number between 1 and 100. Watch the video from BBC Teach. See Rodd test his rocket and help him count down from 10. Pupils can complete the 4 activities at the bottom of the webpage to practice their understanding of one more, one less. (Challenge level 2) Recognising coins - Learn the shapes and values of coins watch video explanation of addition and try the quizzes underneath. Pupils will benefit from using real coins to assist learning. (Challenge level 1) Symmetry worksheet - need to substitute numicon rods for similar homemade resources. Find symmetry lines within scavenged items (leaves etc).
