WEEK 1 (Challenge level 3) What is addition – watch video explanation of addition and try the quizzes underneath. Pupils will benefit from using tactile objects to represent numbers and a number line to help them work out the addition sums. (Challenge level 2) counting in 1s and back to 50 – In this lesson, children will learn to count up to and back from numbers up to 50, starting on different numbers. Which number is hidden under a lily pad? Watch this video to find out how to count up past twenty. (Challenge level 2) ordinal numbers 1st to 6th We use ordinal numbers to describe which order things come in. Look at the slideshow below to practise using ordinal numbers. Pupils can complete 2 worksheets to practice their understanding of ordinal numbers. (Challenge level 1) What is perimeter? - The perimeter is the distance all the way around the outside of a 2D shape. To work out the perimeter, add up the lengths of all the sides. Pupils will benefit from measuring how many steps it takes to walk the perimeter of their garden/local park/living room etc to compare. (Challenge level 1) Number blocks number 8 with a scavenger hunt.
