Monday
LI: To recognise 2D shapes.
- Encourage your child to name familiar shapes. Look for objects in the house that look like a rectangle (e.g. coffee table, book), circle (pot lid, clock etc..), square (coaster, etc.) and triangle (cloths hanger, etc.).
- Choose activities appropriate for your child. Encourage your child to name different shapes on the worksheets, to look for a specific shape, to count the total of e.g. triangles on a worksheet.
Tuesday
LI: To create shape patterns.
- Watch the PowerPoint: All Curly caterpillar repeating pattern. The last part of Curly’s body needs a colour. Which colour should this be?
- Look at the selection of different activities. Choose the most suitable for your child.
- Encourage your child to make his/her own pattern using 2 or 3 different colours/shapes.
