LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Experience different poems about sports
- Give a reason why you like a poem
- Comment on a poem
- Comment on a picture
- Retrieve information from a picture
- Practice handwriting skills
Read poems on Powerpoint or have an adult read the poem to you. Identify which sports the poems are talking about.
Practice writing – overwrite key words/names of sports.
Look at pictures and identify name of sport. Write sentence to describe each sport.
Read basketball poem. Brainstorm what you know about basketball. Read sentences about basketball and use them to make a poem or use template to write own poem.

Choose a reading comprehension activity.
