What support may a young person with SEND need?

Accommodations vary depending on the individual's needs, but they can include flexible work hours, assistive technology, and additional training. With the right support, employees with SEN can be highly productive and valued employees.

How can I support students at Ifield?

Visit the school and talk to our students. Develop an understanding of their unique talents and areas where they might need additional support. Offer work experience placements and tailor them to make the most of their talents effectively. Communication is key, so we are always happy to talk openly and honestly about any concerns you may have so that we can find solutions together.

What else can I do to support young people with SEND?

Create an inclusive workplace which promotes understanding and respect amongst all employees, provides disability awareness training, and fosters a culture of acceptance.

What steps can I take to create a long-term commitment to hiring and supporting individuals with SEND?

Develop a formal inclusion policy, set measurable goals, and regularly assess progress. Continuously engage with employees and adapt your approach based on their feedback and needs.
