Sycamore Visit to the Turner Contemporary, Margate

On Friday 13th March 2020, Sycamore Class visited the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery in Margate as part of their topic on Muck, Mess and Mixtures. The pupils saw many different sculptures made of different materials, some of which were recyclable materials. Some sculptures were on ground level while other sculptures were mounted on the walls.

The pupils also made their own sculptures, inspired by the art gallery sculptures, using different sensory materials such as tubes, foam tubes, ribbon, string, cotton reels and fabric. Some of the sculptures that the pupils made were designed to stand on the floor while others were designed to be hung on the wall. The pupils and staff had a wonderful day at the art gallery.

The pupils and staff wish to thank the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery for a wonderful day. They also wish to thank Sheila Wakelin for driving them on the day
