Monday

Life skills – look at the worksheet about making a cup of tea. Cut out the pictures and writing and then sequence them in the correct order to make a cup of tea. Under adult supervision, make a cup of tea.

Maths:

Easy – get some containers and find out which one holds the most / least.

Medium – sequencing the numbers 1 – 20 on the worksheet.

Hard – sort the numbers according to odd or even numbers.

Reading – choose a favourite book and hear an adult read it to you or read it to an adult.

 

Tuesday

English – read the story of the Chinese New Year using the PowerPoint. Ask questions from the story.

Maths:

Easy – choose some containers and fill them up with water. Which one holds the most / least?

Medium – sequencing the numbers 1 – 20 on the worksheet.

Hard – sort the numbers according to odd and even numbers.

Geography – look at the aerial map of the dinosaur landscape. Place some dinosaurs or toys on different places on the landscape. Then take a photo.

Cooking – make chocolate sponge cakes according to the recipe.

 

 

Wednesday

English – read the story of the Chinese New Year and ask questions. Then make a Chinese New Year dragon using the worksheet and some coloured paper.

Maths:

Easy – choose some containers and fill them up with water. Sequence them according to which holds most water i.e. from most to least.

Medium – sequencing the numbers on the worksheet.

Hard – sort the numbers according to odd and even numbers.

Science – look at science activity 1 and point out all the sources of light in the picture. Then say which ones are natural e.g. fire and which ones are man-made e.g. street light. Then do science activity 2 whereby you sort the pictures according to natural and man-made sources of light.

Art – look at the PowerPoint about Chinese New Year. Read through and discuss.

Thursday

English – read the story of the Chinese New Year using the PowerPoint.

Easy – over-write the names of the animals in the story.

Medium – copy-write the names of the animals in the story.

Hard – write a sentence to describe each of the animals.

Maths:

Easy – choose some containers and fill them up with water. Sequence them according to which holds most water i.e. from least to most.

Medium – sequencing the numbers on the worksheet.

Hard – sort the numbers according to odd and even numbers.

Science – Look at the PowerPoint about light sources. Complete the worksheet of light sources. Then look at the pictures of the light sources and decide whether they are natural or man-made sources.

PHSE - Look at the PowerPoint about Chinese New Year (from English). Read and discuss the story with the more able pupils reading the slides and answering questions and less able pupils to point out the key objects from the story.

  1. Colour the year of the Ox worksheet.
  2. Colour by numbers worksheet.
  3. Make a hanging lantern from paper using the instructions.

 

Friday

English – read the story of the Chinese New Year again.

Easy – over-write the key words of the animals from the story.

Medium – copy-write the key words from the story.

Hard – write a sentence to describe each animal from the story.

SLIC Interventions:

  1. Read the card and decide which object it refers to.
  2. Play a board game taking it in turns to have a go.

RE – read the story of the Good Samaritan. Colour the picture on page 2.
