Key Stage 4 pupils complete My Employability Passport!

Last year our Key Stage 4 successfully completed My Employability Passport course. This is a core element of the ifutures SEN careers education program developed for pupils at Ifield School. My Employability Passport aims to develop the pupil’s confidence and understanding of their journey towards paid employment. Our pupils enjoyed watching the videos of young people with comparable levels of SEN who had successfully gained their first paid job.

Through identifying with their peers our pupils understood that paid employment is a goal that they can work towards. The pupils were able to identify that they are not alone on their journey to employment, that they have the support of family, carers, teaching staff, a key supporter and the local community.  The work and confidence that our pupils showed during these careers sessions has inspired us to continue developing the ifutures careers program to provide the opportunity for every pupil to work towards their first paid job.
