The School Direct (training) Secondary Science and Maths course in Special School setting
Your main school for this course will be Ifield School and you will have at least one other placement, of at least six weeks duration, in a contrasting school as part of your training. Ifield School serves pupils and students with profound, severe and complex difficulties and has a specialism working with young people who have communication and interaction difficulties.
The teaching of Science and Mathematics is differentiated to enable secondary pupils learn about these vital areas of the curriculum through active, multisensory and engaging lessons. Student teachers who train at Ifield School can be assured of supportive and experienced mentors and colleagues, as well as pupils who are determined to overcome barriers to learning and to reach their full potential.
