02.11.07 - Declan Galbraith at the Woodville Halls, Gravesend
Ifield School is proud to present International singing star Declan, at his first UK concert at the Woodville Halls (Gravesend) on Friday November 2nd, shortly after he returns from his first tour of China. Declan is already a household name in Germany and Austria, where he regularly tours and has just been presented with his first GOLD ALBUM in Germany for sales of over 100,000. British events include fronting the BBC ‘Young Voices’, when he sang live with 10,000 children and another 80,000 singers on a video link up to produce the world’s largest choir. He was invited to sing for the Queen’s Jubilee concert in St Paul’s Cathedral, and has appeared on stage with stars such as Elton John, also appearing on a Christmas CD with him.
Declan is now busy preparing for the release of his third CD, this time aimed more at the British market, although it will still feature his early blending of Scottish and Irish musical traditions.
All this and yet Declan is just fifteen years old! He first visited Ifield School earlier this year and was so impressed by the work undertaken there that he decided to do something for the school. He is donating all proceeds from the concert to Ifield School to enable them to purchase a new sound and music system.
The concert, as well as starring Declan, will also feature the award winning McManigan Irish Dancers and Country singer Nula. The Ifield Music Consort will also be appearing on stage with Declan.
